I would highly recommend using City Vibes Tours if you want to see Medellín and learn it's history.

Unforgettable visit to El Penol and Guatapé.
This was one of the most enjoyable tours I've ever done. We did fruit tasting, visit to piedra of El Penol and the town of Guatapé which is out of this world. We had an excellent guide, Carlos, who is very knowledgeable about the area. City Vibes Tours does not disappoint!!!

10/10 STARS with Carlos! A Little Rain, a Lot of Medellín Magic!
I had a great experience with Carlos on this private tour! He was an excellent guide—friendly, knowledgeable, full of interesting information about Medellín. I especially loved the drone videos he took, which were such a fun touch and a great keepsake from the experience! Exploring Comuna 13 with Carlos was excellent! It was a bit rainy, so the area was relatively quiet, which actually made for a great opportunity to wander around and explore without the usual crowds, as long as you were willing to brave the weather! Carlos was also prepared with umbrellas for the rain. Carlos was also incredibly patient and flexible, allowing me to set the pace of the tour and spend as much time as I wanted exploring different areas. From the moment we met Carlos at our hotel for pickup, we knew this was going to be a great tour — and we were not disappointed! Carlos is extremely personable, engaging, and very fluent in English. He took the time to explain the various aspects of the tour and shared a wealth of information about Medellín and its history. He was always professional as a tour guide, but at the same time, there were many moments when he felt more like a new friend. That personal connection made the entire experience even more enjoyable. I made a slight mistake when booking and only realised during the tour that Comuna 13 was not included. After a brief discussion with Carlos, he was very accommodating and was able to adjust the itinerary so we could include Comuna 13 as well. This gave us the best of both worlds and allowed us to experience all of the comunas included in our day. Overall, it was a fantastic tour and Carlos was an excellent guide — knowledgeable, professional, flexible, and genuinely enjoyable to spend the day with. Carlos Made Our Medellín Adventure Truly Unforgettable

At times, it honestly felt less like we were touring with a guide and more like we were exploring Medellín with a new friend. That connection made the experience so much more memorable. After a brief discussion with Carlos, he was incredibly accommodating and worked with us to add it to our itinerary. In the end, we got the best of both worlds and were able to experience the different comunas as well as the other highlights of the tour. A fantastic tour made even better by an excellent guide. Best Tour Company in Colombia
This was my first trip to Colombia and it was an amazing unforgettable experience. I stayed 5 days in this lovely nation and I will definitely go back because of the tour experience.
